FC Dallas is back at home as we get our main rivals Houston Dynamo in town for the second match of the 2016 Texas Derby. Both teams are coming into this match on road draws from a week ago as FCD tied San Jose, while the Dynamo scored their first road draw of the season in Vancouver.
FC Dallas notes:
Last time against Houston. It wasn't pretty. A big 5-0 loss back in March when the two meet in the second week of the season. Houston had a 4-0 lead at the half hour mark of the match.
Injury update. Everyone seems fine for the most part going into this game except for Alejandro Zendejas and Michael Barrios. Both are listed on the club's injury report for this game.
Key player for FCD: Mauro Diaz. We've started to see more out of Diaz in the last month or so but this week will be a big one at home against the Dynamo. We know he can carve this defense up if he wants and FCD will need him on his game to get that revenge that they are looking for here.
Biggest question: Can FCD have a quick start in this one?
We've seen time and time again this season that when FC Dallas has a quick start to the game, they are able to do so much more in the possession and final third that they limit their opponents chances. On the flip side though we've seen how much a slow start can derail FC Dallas in the attack when their defense gets off to a bad start.
