OSCAR PAREJA – HEAD COACH, FC DALLAS

Coaches Remarks on the Match

First off I’d like to congratulate the franchise here; it was a beautiful atmosphere to play with, the fans and the stadium is was great to compete is such an atmosphere, it was unbelievable.

Obviously disappointed about not getting the point and walking away from the game with nothing. We played much better today than in the last two games, we showed an improvement but at the same time there were mistakes that created some obstacles.

The first half for me was control; I thought we matched them up well in intensity. We found the rhythm which created superiority there and we moved the ball well also.

The second half I thought the game went back and forth, we had some motions but Toronto also had theirs. Not being efficient in the last passing play won’t lead to results.

Can we have an update on your Goal Keeper Jesse Gonzalez, do you know what the injury was?

His neck got hurt but I don’t know specifically what happened. The boys are saying it was very harsh.

Thoughts on the teams defense?

It’s a tough battle. An international player like Jozy and one of the best players of the league Giovinco. I thought it was a very hard job to do tonight, it was tough. A play battle with ups and downs, it was fun to watch.

TESHO AKINDELE – FORWARD, FC DALLAS

What were your general thoughts on the game?

I thought it was a pretty good game today, we are a good team, they are a very good team and the game was very back and forth. We had quite a few opportunities to tie the game but at the end of the day they got the better of us on the scoreboard, so credit to them.

Do you feel your team did enough to warrant at least a point out of the game?

We definitely could have taken a point out of this game, for sure. We had a very clear cut chance that we usually would have taken but overall out of the game we deserved at least a point.

RYAN HOLLINGSHEAD – DEFENDER, FC DALLAS

What were your general thoughts on the game?

It was a tough one coming into a packed stadium with a great atmosphere, we knew that they would be coming in to the game with a lot of energy. We had a game plan going in and we felt we executed the plan very well and we had some chances to score that we just didn’t take. Those are big moments in the game where we have to score, however I still believe the game plan worked well it just wasn’t executed enough.

What was it like coming up against the likes of Altidore and Giovinco?

They are both very good for different reasons, one is a hold up player and one is very shifty but for the different attributes they possess they play off of each other very well. We knew that coming in and what style of play they were going to have and how we were going to hold them up. I felt that we did and it wasn’t them who scored, but maybe we should have had equal focus watching the other guys around us.

Couple good saves at the end of the game there, was that your first time in goal?

Yeah man, first time ever! My little brother grew up as a goalie, so he taught me everything I know so I felt confident going in goal even though the chances of that happening are usually very slim.
