Rankings Recap: All things remain level after a draw for FC Dallas

New, 5 comments

A scoreless draw means FC Dallas doesn't see a lot of movement in the latest Power Rankings.

MLS: FC Dallas at San Jose Earthquakes Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Sometimes with Power Rankings, you just have to laugh at them. FC Dallas picked up a shutout draw on the road last weekend in San Jose. The result in the Power Rankings as you can see is pretty consistent with where they were last week.

And about that drop in ESPN....

MLSSoccer.com Ranking: 3 (last week 3)

Comment: Might have let a good opportunity go to waste by failing to cash in on an opportunity against a short-handed San Jose team, but any road point in the West is as good as gold.

Soccer America Ranking: 2 (last week 2)

Comment: Loanee Carlos Lizarazo (from Cruz Azul) debuted in San Jose for FCD, which ended a three-game road losing streak and posted its fifth shutout. It can take over the conference lead by beating in-state rival Houston on Thursday. At home.

ESPNFC.com Ranking: 5 (last week 3)

Comment: The best part of FCD's goalless draw with the San Jose Earthquakes was the return of Matt Hedges from injury. The clean sheet is a good way to start the center-back's return to the fold.

SI.com Ranking: 5 (Last week 6)

Comment: Dallas struggled to create much against a stout San Jose defense in a 0-0 draw, but any point away from home is good, especially for a side that has struggled as much away as Dallas has. The biggest positive from this game might be the return of central defender Matt Hedges, who started and played the full 90 minutes after missing seven games due to a knee injury.
