Defense was the name of the game on Saturday night as FC Dallas and the San Jose Earthquakes played to a 0-0 draw.

Both teams combined for only four shots on goal as neither really looked dangerous in front of the goal on the night.

FC Dallas nearly had a good chance in the opening minutes of the game as Tesho Akindele found a way to beat the offside trap that San Jose was using. Akindele then was in on goal against David Bingham but his shot was pulled just wide of the goal.

In the second half, San Jose found their chance in the 57th minute as Chad Barrett found Matias Perez Garcia on the left side of the field. Garcia put an attempt in on Chris Seitz but his shot would go just wide as well.

FC Dallas then had a chance in the 74th minute on a play between Kellyn Acosta and Fabian Castillo. The two had a give and go at the top of the box but Acosta's shot lacked the effort to beat Bingham.

FC Dallas will look to extend their current four-game unbeaten run as they return to the field next Thursday as they host their Texas rivals Houston Dynamo.
