FC Dallas will attempt to bring back to back road victories this Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes, a feat that's happened only twice under Oscar Pareja's reign. But getting a victory in the Bay Area will not be easy, as the Earthquakes boasts one of the strongest home teams in the league (5W 1D) and have scored 10 goals at home (1.67 avg GF) while holding the opposition to just 3 goals (0.50 avg GA).
This will also be a tricky game with Dallas' depth being tested with multiple injuries and a couple of mid week call ups to factor in. As of 5/24, the official injury report has the following information:
OUT: M - Alex Zendejas (osteitis pubis)
QUESTIONABLE: D - Matt Hedges (torn meniscus 4/13, out 4-6 weeks)
F - Maximiliano Urruti (left ankle sprain, DNP 5/21)
M - Michael Barrios (leg injury)
There's no official word on Carlos Gruezo and his condition, but I wouldn't expect him this weekend. Kellyn Acosta did not feature for the Yanks on Wednesday and should be available. FCD still has Moises Hernandez, Colin Bonner and Coy Craft on their respective loans and are not available for selection. (At least at the time of this writing.)
Maxi Urruti should be ready, do you insert him back into the lineup or do you ride the hot hand of Tesho Akindele? Though keep in mind that Tesho's at this best when paired with a striking partner, so do you put out a lineup that features Urruti and Tesho but then do you drop Mauro Diaz? With Gruezo out, is this the time to give Juan Esteban Ortiz his first start? Do you think it's Timo Pitter or Carlos Lizarazo that should get a shot on the vacated wing spot due to Barrios' injury?
