Memorable games: Three games between FC Dallas and New England Revolution

New, 2 comments

FC Dallas has had some success in recent years against the Revs.

FC Dallas is back at it this weekend as they travel east to battle fellow MLS original New England Revolution.

Its been a couple years since FCD last went to New England but here are a couple games that stick out in season series between the two clubs. I'll stick to league play as the US Open Cup result from 2007 still stings a bit.

FC Dallas 2 - 2 New England Revolution - September 22, 2010

It is a bit hard for me not to start at this game in this season series. I know the two teams go further back but the September 2010 meeting still has a special place in my mind for some reason. For one it was a wild game that saw FC Dallas battle back to get a goal late from Jeff Cunningham in the final moments to help extend what would end up being a league record 19 straight unbeaten games.

FC Dallas 1 - 0 New England Revolution - March 30, 2013

The last time FCD went to New England, the result was pretty darn good. Blas Perez came onto the field and immediately helped push FCD over the Revs.

FCD had a lot of good chances in this one before Perez found the back of the net. It is kind of weird looking back at this one to see the midfield partnership of Michel and Andrew Jacobson sitting behind David Ferreria.

FC Dallas 3 - 0 New England Revolution - July 4, 2015

Last but not least in this look back is our match last season with the Revs which also happened to be our 4th of July game too. Mauro Diaz played a big part in all three goals for FCD in the win.

Diaz got things started with a goal early on and then Fabian Castillo and Michael Barrios added a goal each to help FCD easily win this one.
