FC Dallas got their revenge over the Portland Timbers on Wednesday night thanks to three first half goals in a 3-1 win.

After giving up early goals in their last two games, FC Dallas was the one scoring early in this game. In the fourth minute, Former Timber forward Maximiliano Urruti stole the ball in the Portland defensive end. He then fed the ball forward to his partner up top in Tesho Akindele. The Canadian international then found the fun of Michael Barrios who used two touches to get around the Timbers' keeper and slot the ball into the back of the net.

Urruti wasn't done against his former club. In the 26th minute he found himself in another dangerous spot in the Portland defensive end. Urruti stole the ball from Jack Jewsbury and then found Fabian Castillo. The Colombian winger did the rest as he lifted a clever chip into the back of the net.

FCD struck again three minutes later with Akindele. Maynor Figueroa was ahead into the attack where he fired a shot towards the Timbers' goal. Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey hit he ball out only to the top of the penalty area where Castillo was there to receive it. After a mishit from Castillo, Akindele then took the ball and hammered it into the back of the net.

Portland wouldn't go quietly in this one however as they found a goal of their own in the middle of the second half. In the 67th minute Darren Mattocks picked up a loose ball around the Dallas goal. The former Vancouver forward then struck a hard shot over the shoulder of Chris Seitz to make the score 3-1.

FCD was able to hold on to the lead and pick up their second road win of the season. They'll be back in action on Sunday as they host Sporting Kansas City.
