Squad Selection: FC Dallas vs Philadelphia Union

Off-season over. Time to get those three points in the pocket!

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Season opener. Home opener. There's really nothing else to it, but to go for the win with your best and strongest squad to get the season off on the right foot. Dallas has been strong on their season openers for the past four seasons, taking maximum points against NYRB, Colorado, Montreal and San Jose. Dallas will welcome one of the worst 2015 road teams in MLS play (3W-10L-4D), and as most of you already know, Toyota Stadium was a fortress for this club last season (13W-2L-2D).

Opening day squad selections are often the trickiest though, especially for Dallas as they keep just about everything related to the players and their availability very close to the chest. That being said, as far as I and the league knows, the official Injured List report has zero FCD players listed, so the full strength of the roster is available at your pleasure.

So let's continue with what we started last season, shall we? Assume you're Oscar Pareja and you're charged with selecting the best starting XI and a complement of seven players to man the bench. Who will you select? What kind of back line will you roll out? Does Moises Hernande end his exile and reclaim his left back position? Is Zach Loyd still a CB? Who gets the nod in the middle of the field?

Select away and fire off in the comments on why and what kind of formation you're going with!
