Guillen pleased with his debut with FCD |

Aaron Guillen surprised a lot of us on Saturday with his performance against DCU. He got 90 minutes on the day at the fullback spot (not center back like we suspected). Still, he proved to be a capable backup for this club.

Between the two Michael Barrios goals and the lovely attacking play on the Maximiliano Urruti goal, the play across the field was exactly how Oscar Pareja drew it up on Saturday.

Matt Doyle gives us his usual weekend recap. This one is rather quick given how many games there were this past weekend in the league. A lot of talk about how bad DCU was but there are some nice comments on FCD.

As bad as United looked on Saturday, there is still plenty of time for them to turn things around and rite the ship here on this season. At least that is what this says in some ways. My gut tells me this team may be more close to that dreadful 2013 team than what we've seen the last couple years.

It is very interesting (and not at all surprising) to me that Houston has lost two straight after pounding FCD. Also, their attack came to a halt on Saturday night in Vancouver. I knew they couldn't keep up that three or four goals a game thing that they were on.

Boy this was a scary scene on Saturday night as Omar Holness went down on the field with a seizure. The game was stopped for 20 minutes or so. Thoughts and prayers go out to the young attacker.
