As good as the week one rankings looked for FC Dallas, the follow up after the blowout loss at Houston didn't do them any favors. But the good news, it is only week two.
Comment: Until they give us reason to think otherwise, we're writing this result off as their typical early-season blip. Remember when they got crushed by the Rapids last year? Same thing.
Comment: It's hard to pick the worst moment of that 5-0 disaster. It's easier to pick on those most culpable. Yes, Matt Hedges - under no pressure at all -- steered a ball past his own keeper but Houston scorched left back Maynor Figueroa so often he was moved into the middle for the second half. Those two crossed paths and presented Houston with its fourth goal. So farCarlos Gruezo doesn't look like an major upgrade in central midfield.
Comment: Dallas crashed after a strong start in Week 1, with a shocking 5-0 loss to Houston, prompting early questions about the team's consistency something that had been an issue in recent years but looked to be rectified last year.
Comment: It's difficult to account for the no-show performance FC Dallas put in against the Dynamo. Perhaps it was just an early season blip, though Oscar Pareja will certainly use it as a teaching moment for a team picked to do great things this year.
