According to a couple of sources on Twitter, FC Dallas may be bringing in some help for the left back position.
Anibal Chalá jugador que milita en El @elnacionalec tiene planificado viajar este domingo en la madrugada para vincularse al FC DALLAS USA.
— Stalin Cobena (@StalinCobena) December 3, 2016
Rough translation says,
“Anibal Chala, player for CD El Nacional, plans to travel this Sunday to join FC Dallas USA.”
Another tweet is more bold to claim that this transfer has been “confirmed” though it credits Stalin Cobena for the information.
¡CONFIRMADO!

Both sources seem to be fairly credible, but as with Twitter news, take these all with a grain of salt.
Here’s some quick information regarding FC Dallas’ potential new signing:
Name: Aníbal Hernán Chalá Ayoví
DOB: May 9, 1996
Place of Birth: Mira, Ecuador
Age: 20
Position: Left-back
Current Club: CD El Nacional
Chala is also a member of Ecuador’s U20 side, having made six appearances. He’s been a fixture in El Nacional’s starting lineup since 2014. Having made 31, 34 and 36 appearances in 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively. He’s also added two goals during that time span.
It appeared that as of a month ago, Chala was a potential target for Emelec, but it seems that Fernando Clavijo has beaten them to Chala’s signature.
As far as Chala’s skill set goes, we’ll just leave this YouTube highlight reel for you. Obviously, YouTube can make anyone look like the next Roberto Carlos, but for now this will have to do.
Journalist Cobena stated that Chala was traveling on Sunday, so we’ll know quickly whether there’s any truth to these rumors.
