One draft is done in MLS this offseason, but there are plenty more on the way.

We’re all a bit bummed to see Loyd go but it is probably for the best in this case. If he can be healthy again, I know I will be rooting him on there in Atlanta.
Such a classy dude.
We’re not saying it was a dud because our team wasn’t in it, it was just a snooze fest outside of a couple moments and the penalty kicks.
So we have a fullback in Aniba Chala on the way, a winger to replace Fabian Castillo, likely another HGP signing and Atiba Harris is getting a new contract with the club. That is a good start to the offseason if you ask me.

Just as you would expect out of the expansion draft, there were a lot of head scratching moves like Atlanta taking two keepers (though they did trade one back to his original club). Neither team really blew me away with their selections though.
The interesting line here is that Atlanta believes Loyd will be healthy enough to go, which was pretty much in contrast to what I’ve been told for a couple months now.
AU was busy more so after the draft. They traded away a couple of their picks in Clint Irwin (they got Mark Bloom and some money back), then traded Danny Toia to Orlando for their first round SuperDraft pick next month.
That Atlanta attack is going to be pretty sick next season. Their defense is still a work in progress though but man I like this Romero pickup.
I liked the Chris Duvall pick but they ended up trading him away to Montreal. Overall they took a lot of cheap, relatively safe picks.
I think it may be safe to say that Jones wanted to be with the Galaxy all along here in MLS.
On the same day as the Jones trade, the Galaxy made their managing move official.
Well he didn’t speak falsely here.
