It wasn’t a super pretty game, though it did have solid moments of entertainment value. But after a while it was pretty apparent that Seattle was content on sitting back and letting Toronto have their run of things.
Were they the best team all season? Absolutely not. But once again the team that got hot late in the year won the league’s top prize.
Just like their blog says, it was a perfect ending to an imperfect season.
Seattle looked dead in the water back in the summer but a new manager got them on the right track.
Toronto looked like they ran out of ideas after about 30 minutes on Saturday but they were still the better team for the entire 120 minutes.
Chad Marshall and Roman Torres had a heck of a game. Stefan Frei may be a new legend to Sounders fans with the saves he made.
There weren’t a ton of jump out of your seat type moments but that one was huge.
Michael Bradley and Ozzie Alonso were amazing on Saturday against one another and for their clubs. I hope people appreciate the type of work they did on the field.
For about two hours yesterday, every time I checked my email I got a new release from Atlanta talking about some trade that they had just made. Boy they were busy. That Michael Parkhurst trade was a nice pickup though.
Clever bit of business from Atlanta to snag Sean Johnson from Chicago, only to trade him away for allocation monies.
