FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders, MLS Playoffs: Preview, TV schedule and how to watch online

Can FC Dallas do the unthinkable tomorrow night?

MLS: Conference Semifinals-FC Dallas at Seattle Sounders Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

The hole is deep for FC Dallas as they trail the Seattle Sounders 3-0 in the Western Conference semifinals. Seattle picked up the big win last week in the first leg up in Washington and now FC Dallas returns home looking to keep their treble hopes alive for one more round.

FC Dallas notes:

Injury update. Zach Loyd remains out with a concussion while Mauro Diaz (Achilles) joins him.

Life without Mauro. According to the club’s game notes, Diaz has missed 37 regular‐season games since arriving in Dallas in the middle of the 2013 season. In 2014, FCD's record was 6‐7‐4 in games that Diaz missed. In 2015, the mark was 4‐5‐1. This season Dallas went 3‐2‐3 without Diaz.

Playing on shuffle. Over the first 33 games of the MLS regular season, Oscar Pareja has utilized 30 different lineups. In 42 games across all competitions in 2016, FC Dallas has used 36 unique lineups. Last week Pareja used a 5-3-2 formation for the first time in a couple months against MLS competition.

Key player for FCD: Mauro Rosales. We have to figure Rosales will be a key figure in the attack for FCD in this one as he should step into the Diaz role in the midfield. FCD will need to get as much out of the veteran as they possible can to have any shot in this game.

Biggest question: Can FCD apply the pressure early enough and not give up any goals?

We expect both teams to come out with guns blazing in this one as Seattle will want to put this one out of reach early with an away goal while FCD looks to get back in this series. FCD has to find a way to get a goal in the first 30 minutes of this game to really have a shot. If they can get two in the first half, even better but an early goal is absolutely key in my mind. That will force Seattle to stay back more, which could open up the set piece game with Rosales and Kellyn Acosta.

Seattle Notes:

Injury update: OUT: Clint Dempsey (heart), Andreas Ivanschitz (knee), Alvaro Fernandez (hamstring), Dylan Remick (concussion); QUESTIONABLE: Roman Torres (hamstring)

Key player for Seattle: Jordan Morris. The rookie showed exactly how to beat Dallas on the wings last Sunday. I would imagine he will be a key figure in the counter attack as FCD pushes numbers forward.
