The celebrating is going to slow down a bit here as FC Dallas gets back in gear for their playoff run.

Nothing like landing back in Dallas after midnight and then going immediately to Mauro Diaz’s house to wake him up and spray some bubbly on him.
It wasn’t pretty but sometimes playoff soccer doesn’t have to be pretty. Its a grind out and get results kind of time.
I’m hoping this was taped pre-concussion. That’s some fast driving there.

Everyone loves a good underdog and that is what FCD was in some ways this year. A team build on youth and quality veterans that few gave a real shot at winning trophies.

I don’t put a ton of stock in things like the SPI but I will say it is a good enough starting point for things to go off.
No surprise that we’re one of the top winners in the bunch but seeing the two MLS Cup participants from last year in the loser column is interesting to say the least. Just shows how much of a crap shoot the playoffs just really are in this league.
Given the way that team is built, I’d like to think they’ll be fine too but they have a lot of aging guys coming off injuries, a few high contracts that need to be sorted out and I would imagine some locker room stuff to fix.
And more changes on the DCU stadium are coming up. Oh goodie.
Every time I hear Bruce talk on TV or in person, I get a little grin on my face. Maybe it is his smug way of answering questions or just his overall way of doing things.
I have to say, this is a big bummer. Really feel bad for Maurice Edu here these days as this season was completely lost to injuries.
About half of the league saw increases in their average attendance from last season, others saw slight decreases and then there is FCD and that whopping 12% decrease. Most of that is because of the south end being closed, which a lot of folks continue to forget.
