The news hasn’t gotten any better with the injury to Mauro Diaz. Goal.com’s Jon Arnold is reporting today that the Argentine midfielder is now on his way to North Carolina to see Dr. Robert Anderson, a renowned surgeon that has operated on several NFL players.
Diaz is set for surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon that happened on Sunday evening in the 2-1 win over the Seattle Sounders.
The news looks really grim for Diaz as SI.com’s Brian Straus is suggesting that the timetable for his return is up to eight months.
FC Dallas playmaker Mauro Díaz scheduled for surgery Wednesday. Club preparing for absence of up to 8 months.

FC Dallas will now have to find a replacement for Diaz for the remainder of this season (including the playoffs) and a few months into next season.
The Goal.com article also has good quotes from Oscar Pareja and Fernando Clavijo as they discuss how the team will approach these next few weeks without Diaz in and around the team.
