The third and fourth rounds of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft are today via conference call between the 20 clubs. FC Dallas has already made two selections in this year's college draft and will make two more today with the 4th pick in the third round and the 17th pick in the 4th round.
FCD has already taken a goalkeeper in Ryan Herman and a midfielder in Timo Pitter. So what is left on the board for them to take today? Here are five available players worth taking a gander at.
Midfielder - James Moberg (Washington)
This central midfielder impressed during his time at Washington. He is a versatile midfielder that could be good depth behind the likes of Victor Ulloa or Kellyn Acosta. He is more of a box-to-box kind of player that could develop well over time under Oscar Pareja.
Midfielder - Todd Wharton (Virginia)
I won't lie, I'm all for FCD snagging a couple central midfielders today. Wharton is a guy that I was able to see plenty of over the years at UVA. He has played well in 4-4-2 formations as well as the attacking midfielder in a 4-4-1-1. I could also see this as a player Pareja could draft and stash in Oklahoma City for a season.
Defender - Josh Turnley (Georgetown)
It seems odd that Philadelphia didn't snag him in the first two rounds considering the fact that they took his teammates so early (Yaro and Rosenberry). He's a natural left-back, which is an area of concern this offseason for FCD.
Forward - Colin Bonner (UNC Wilmington)
While some of us may still want a big striker like Kenny Cooper, Bonner is another big target forward that could fit in well for late game situations with this club. His movement on the field has been touted up from a couple of scouts I've spoken with and he did well enough to score 23 goals in four seasons at UNCW.
