The Colombian winger has had a banner year in 2015 for FC Dallas by scoring nine goals and seven assists. The Colombian winger ranks seventh in franchise history in goals scored with 29 in 133 appearances. He lands the top spot after coming in third place a year ago. Castillo is one of two players to be on the annual list every year since 2011 (DCU's Perry Kitchen is the only other player with that honor).
The All-Star beat out Vancouver's Ketuka Manneh, LA Galaxy midfielder Sebastian Lletget and Columbus Homegrown midfielder Wil Trapp at the top of the list.
FC Dallas had two players on the 24 list, with Homegrown midfielder Kellyn Acosta cracking the list for the first time at number 14. New England had the most players on the list with four total, Vancouver, Chicago, New York and Portland all getting multiple players on the list.
Five additional FC Dallas players made the 24 Under 24 short list including the youngest player in the league, Alejandro Zendejas (17), Walker Zimmerman (23), Tesho Akindele (23), Victor Ulloa (23) and Moises Hernandez (23).
