FC Dallas match at LA Galaxy moved to Sunday, Sept. 27 for national TV

New, comments

MLS is using their flex-schedule wisely.

At the beginning of the year when MLS announced their new national TV contracts with ESPN and Fox Sports, there was mentions of possible flex-scheduling to allow the TV partners the ability to reschedule big match-ups. MLS has opted to do just that with the final regular season meeting between FC Dallas and the LA Galaxy next month as both clubs push towards a playoff spot.

The two sides announced on Monday that the game originally scheduled for September 26 will be moved to the following day to be on Fox Sports 1. The game will kickoff at 8:30pm CT at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA.

The Galaxy currently occupy first place in the Western Conference and Supporters' Shield standings with 46 points. Dallas reside third in the West, with 41 points but has three games in hand against the Galaxy.

What do you make of the league moving this game to be on national TV?
