FC Dallas was able to snap their three-game losing streak on Saturday night, as they downed Real Salt Lake 2-0 in front of a crowd of over 18,000 at Toyota Stadium.

The home side got two second half goals from Tesho Akindele and Fabian Castillo on their way to the victory.

FCD came out firing in this one in search of goals and points. In the first few moments of the game Je-Vaughn Watson came up the right wing and sent in a dangerous ball into the penalty box. RSL failed to clear the ball out of the box as it fell to David Texeira, but the forward's hard shot would go just wide of the near post.

Salt Lake would mount their own attack in the first half as well, in the 18th minute Javier Morales broke free on the wings, he would send in a ball to Joao Plata at the back post. Thankfully for Dallas, Kellyn Acosta came back on the play to help keep Plata from capitalizing on an open goal.

The second half would open up with FCD earning a penalty kick in the 51st minute. Akindele would cut through a couple RSL defenders in the box before being pulled down. The Canadian international would step up to the penalty spot and beat Nick Rimando for the game's first goal.

RSL would get a penalty attempt of their own in the 71st minute. Morales would find newly signed Designated Player Juan Martinez at the top of the box. He would make one move and then get brought down by Acosta. Homegrown keeper Jesse Gonzalez would come up huge in the penalty kick though against Morales. He would brush aside the attempt and help keep the follow-up chance from Plata out of the goal.

Two minutes later FCD would double their lead with the speed of Michael Barrios and Castillo. FCD would capitalize on a misplay from a RSL defender as Castillo would break free on the pass from Barrios and then place a clever shot by Rimando for his ninth goal of the season.

FC Dallas will return to action next weekend as they travel to Columbus.
