In front of a sellout crowd at BC Place, FC Dallas came up short for a third straight game in a 1-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday night.

Vancouver got a first half goal from Cristian Techera in the win as FC Dallas Homegrown keeper Jesse Gonzalez made his first career start in goal for the visitors.

Dallas had some of the early chances in this one as Atiba Harris used his pace up the right flank to test Vancouver keeper David Ousted in the 13th minute. Blas Perez and Harris combined for a quick set of passes before Harris ripped a shot to the right of Ousted, forcing the All-Star keeper to make a save.

Vancouver would respond by testing Gonzalez. Ketuka Manneh would set up the game's lone goal in the 32nd minute. Manneh would draw Gonzalez off his line at the near post before slipping a ball to Techera would easily finish off the chance on goal.

Michael Barrios nearly got Dallas level in the second half. The Colombian winger danced through the Whitecap's defense on the wing to break into the penalty box but his shot from a short distance wouldn't have enough pace to beat Ousted.

Dallas pushed hard for a goal late but the Vancouver defense was equal to the task in this one.

FC Dallas returns to action next weekend as they host Real Salt Lake.
