It has been a little while since FC Dallas has gotten some recognition for a goal scored but after their 3-0 win over the New England Revolution last Saturday, people are taking note. The first goal scored in that win by Mauro Diaz is now one of five nominees for MLS Goal of the Week!
The strike came early in the game on a free kick. The Argentine playmaker wisely sent a bullet of a shot under the Revolution's wall and past the keeper for the game's first goal.
This is the second time that Diaz has been nominated for GOTW. His first goal of the season back in May against the Colorado Rapids was also a nominee.
Diaz will go up against goals from Seattle's Tyrone Mears, Orlando City's Kaka, Columbus' Ethan Finlay, and LA midfielder Sebastian Lletget.
Head over to the league's website to vote early and often for Diaz's goal to help him win!
