This seems to be a rumor that just won't go away. El Salvador national team member Rodolfo Zelaya has been rumored with FC Dallas for what feels like a couple years now. The two sides were linked back in 2013 and once again last year but now it appears that Zelaya could finally be heading to North Texas.
@FitoZelaya22 viaja hoy a Dallas para hacer pruebas físicas y médica. Si las pasa, iría a préstamo por seis meses al Dallas FC.— Daniel Herrera (@danielherreraEG) June 21, 2015
Basically the tweet says that if Zelaya passes a physical he will join the club on a six month loan.
Zelaya is currently with Salvadorian giants Alianza FC.
How would this fit for FCD? The 26-year old forward could be a good fit up top this summer while Blas Perez and potentially Tesho Akindele are gone with the Gold Cup. I love seeing the competition aspect of this to help push David Texeira along as well. He could also be a good option to back up Mauro Diaz in the attacking midfield role.
We will keep you up to date on this rumor to see if it progresses any further.
