Former FC Dallas player calls out club on spending

The gloves are off.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

I think in a way some of us have been waiting for a former FC Dallas player or someone that has been a tad bit closer to everything than most of us to say what many of us have been thinking all along. Thanks to the joys of professional athletes being active on Twitter these days, we now have that ability.

Last night during the 3-0 loss to the Seattle Sounders, one former FCD player sounded off briefly on how the club handles their spending.

The original comment that brought Raul Fernandez out was a fan asking to bring him or back up keeper Chris Seitz back on the field over current keeper Dan Kennedy. Truthfully, I don't think Fernandez would be making that much big of an impact with this current group. Not to mention he'd be in South America on international duty this month anyways with Copa America.

But the second tweet is what fans will want to read over and over again. It is something a lot of us think and say but seeing a former player say those kinds of things do carry a little more weight.

What do you all make of Fernandez's comments on the club? Think the club will see this and even care? Sound off below.
