FC Dallas

Head Coach

Oscar Pareja

On the team’s performance

"It was one of those days. It’s hard to believe that we walked off the field with no points. When you’re not sharp finishing and you concede goals the way we did, there are no excuses."

On the early penalty against

"It changed the game and we had to deal with that. It is part of the game, but you had opportunities to get back in it. The penalty made it more difficult for us."

On what his side needs to improve on

"We need to be more solid. We need to be solid in the back, that’s what we need. Teams that win championships are solid, so we need to address that for sure."

Players

Tesho Akindele

On not being able to equalize

"We had so many chances. If you give us that many chances on another day, we would for sure tie it up. It was just one of those days where the ball didn’t want to go in."

On Montreal’s defending

"I think they’re very good when their team gets behind the ball. It’s hard to break them down and then they counter attack. That’s their game plan usually and they’re really good at it. Once everyone is behind the ball, it is hard to get them out of position and that’s what we found out today."

Matt Hedges

On his side’s performance

"We had so many chances at the end to tie it up and I thought we probably should have at some point. But, we didn’t and that’s how it goes. It is disappointing, as we played poorly and we’re not happy with that. "

On why it was tough to break Montreal down

"We just made some poor choices with the ball. We gave the ball away in bad spots from easy balls and we can’t do that in this league. We gave the ball away in bad spots and it was a counter attack against us. We did that quite a lot, so that was the reason we were not getting a lot done."
