Not totally at fault for any of the three goals on the night. I do think the first one he could have done better in the reaction to the header from Nat Borchers but those are tough plays in real time to defend.
Zach Loyd - 4
He didn't provide a ton moving forward and looked rather uncomfortable on the left side. Lets keep him in the middle please and thank you.
Matt Hedges - 5
His play looks totally different with a larger center back next to him. He has to do more on the ball that Loyd typically handles when he is in the middle when Zimmerman is out there. I'm not totally sold on him being a mentor type player to Zimmerman yet either, but one game is a very small sample.
Walker Zimmerman - 3
You could really tell this was his first true start of the season. His good moments were overshadowed by the bad ones too. His lack of pace in the open field really worries me against some of the quicker MLS squads out there. He also has to show better on set pieces both on the defensive side of the ball and in the attack.
Atiba Harris - 2
He rarely got forward enough to make a difference and once again showed how limited he may really be in this right back role.
Victor Ulloa - 5
A lot is being made of his inabilities forward but that may be in large part of how Oscar Pareja is managing him in this set up. When there is a more creative player in front of him he doesn't have to do a ton in the attack other than feed that player the ball. But when there is a creative player lacking in the attack on the night, a little too much pressure may be put on him getting forward.

Defensively he is doing alright. His set pieces are so hit or miss right now though. For every good one that creates a goal like the one in the first half, he has four or five equally bad free kicks. Not to mention he too doesn't do well in linking with players in the attack like we would like him to.
Ryan Hollingshead - 3
He didn't look terrible on the night but he also didn't look all that great either. For that I blame the turf.
Fabian Castillo - 3
Give credit where it is due, Portland game planned to defend Fabian in a way that he hasn't seen so far this season. His one shot tells that story very well.
Tesho Akindele - 4
Hey, he scored. That is good but when his strike partner isn't holding up the play, he tends to disappear in the game a lot.
David Texeira - 1
Sigh. I will say the guy did put in some work that will go unnoticed but boy does it make things hard when he doesn't take chances on goal. Two straight starts for him and he has zero shots to show for. Yes, zero. A forward is suppose to shot the damn ball and he hasn't done that yet this season. Also, don't be shocked to see him get a fine or even a suspension for that elbow to Liam Ridgewell's face.
Oscar Pareja - 3
I'll give him a pass on some things but not starting Moises Hernandez or Blas Perez may have hurt more than anything else on the night. I don't care if both were gone last week and part of this week, you start them and pull them out if they can't go more than 65 minutes.
Blas Perez - 4
He didn't get enough time to be a real difference maker out there but I have to believe had he gone say 60 minutes, the game would have looked a lot different.
Je-Vaughn Watson - 5
Let us all hope that Pareja does the wise thing against Colorado and starts Je-Vaughn at right back.
Michael Barrios - 1
Yes the speed is nice but this is quickly turning into just another Andres Escobar for this club. Just let me have someone like Hollingshead who can improve his game over a guy that just has speed and nothing else to show for.
You can play along with your game grades as well.
Here is a key to the standard 1-10 scale.
