Just when you think Dallas is getting left out of the mix for some summer friendlies a new rumor pops up. World Soccer Talk is reporting that several foreign clubs will ascend on Dallas in July for a summer tournament.

The clubs will include Newcastle United, Olympique Lyonnais, Pachuca, Swansea City, Malaga and Raja Casablanca. The tournament is slated to run from July 11 - 19 and play at both Toyota Stadium in Frisco and at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

It should be noted that none of this is set in stone. Lyon could easily be pulled from this if they end up finishing third in Ligue 1. They would have to deal with UEFA Champions League qualifiers in that time period if that were to happen.

If you are wondering how it will affect the FC Dallas side of things, the club has two home games in July, one being the annual 4th of July match and a second on July 18. Any games at Toyota Stadium during this time would fit pretty well in the schedule.

Big D Soccer is trying to track down the promoter of this event to get more details for you all.
