FC Dallas vs Colorado Rapids: Game Grades

FCD managed to escape Colorado with a draw but how did the players do individually?

Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

After not doing game grades last week, we are back in business here following FC Dallas' 1-1 draw to the Colorado Rapids.

Starting XI:

Dan Kennedy - 5

There was some rust factor involved in a few plays for Kennedy, but overall he was pretty good on the night. I believe once some of the rust wears off for him, we'll be seeing him as the main starter for this club.

Moises Hernandez - 5

He didn't create a ton going forward but at the same time he didn't give up a ton on his end of the field defensively.

Matt Hedges - 6

Up until the elbow to the head, Hedges was his usual solid self. Thankfully he had just a broken nose instead of another blow to the brain.

Zach Loyd - 8

Between the goal line saves and the overall leadership shown on the field once Hedges went down, Loyd was absolutely stellar on the night.

Je-Vaughn Watson - 5

Similar to Hernandez, he didn't get forward a ton but also he didn't give up a ton on his defensive end.

Victor Ulloa - 6

Ulloa does what we expect him to do in the middle of the park, battle like crazy for everything.

Kellyn Acosta - 3

He was reckless at times, especially following the red card in the second half. I do still think that we will be seeing a lot more of him along side Ulloa in the middle of the field though moving forward. Oscar Pareja wants him in this role and he needs more minutes to get fully acclimated in it.

Fabian Castillo - 7

I don't know what it is about Castillo in Colorado, but he always does well there in the mountain air. He still has some work to do on his finishing, but it is so hard to ignore what he did on the play that set up Diaz for the lone goal of the game.

Mauro Diaz - 5

Sure, he got a goal and his passing was solid on the night but when you really dive into the numbers he didn't do a ton moving forward in the attack. Still, his first start in a month I would expect a more limited role out of him like this. Plenty to build on with this performance for sure.

Ryan Hollingshead - 4

A pretty quiet game from Ryan.

Blas Perez - 3

Once again, Perez shows why he is the guy that we love to have on the field but would hate to face him if he were with any other team. He's a pest to the other teams and Colorado knew just how to deal with it. Sure Drew Moor may have embellished the foul a bit on the red card but a veteran like Perez has to know he is always being watched.

Oscar Pareja - 6

Starting three Homegrown players will get you an additional point any day of the week from me. Pareja kept the game simple for the club on the night with the starting lineup that he put out. There wasn't a ton of movement forward, but that is just how he would prefer this team play right now.

Walker Zimmerman - 5

He fought hard off the bench in a tough spot being down a man. Maybe the national team call-up that he had last week was the boost that he needed.

Tesho Akindele - 4

I think it could be fair to say that we'll see him start this weekend with Perez out. Hopefully he can finish chances like he got in the 82nd minute.

Atiba Harris - INC

He came on pretty late in this one.
