FC Dallas played the final 35 minutes of Friday night's match against the Colorado Rapids a man down but managed to escape the Mile High City with a point in a 1-1 draw.

Dallas managed to control part of the first half including the game's first goal from Mauro Diaz. Fabian Castillo was the key player in the first half for the visitors as he proved to be a dangerous component to the Dallas attack on the right side of the field. In the 31st minute, Castillo raced down the right side of the pitch with pace. He would snake through a couple Colorado defenders before passing a ball through the penalty box to Diaz, who finished the chance on goal with ease.

It was Diaz's first goal of the 2015 season and his first start with FCD in nearly a month.

Colorado would find ways to test the Dallas defense before the halftime whistle but new keeper Dan Kennedy would prove to be big in goal for the Hoops.

The game would turn back in favor of the Rapids in the second half however as Blas Perez picked up a straight red card in the 59th minute. Perez would foul Drew Moor away from the play. Shortly after the red card, Dallas had to make a double substitution to counter the red card and to pull out injured captain Matt Hedges, who picked up an elbow to the head from rookie defender Axel Sjoberg.

Colorado would use the man-advantage and tie the game in the 79th minute on a Nick LaBrocca goal. Dillion Powers was played a long ball from the back, he would find LaBrocca to finish the play.

FC Dallas will return to action as they battle rivals Houston in the Bayou City next Friday.
