Rankings Recap: FC Dallas moving on up

FC Dallas bounces back from an embarrassing loss against Colorado.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

It's week seven of power rankings in MLS. FC Dallas defeated Toronto FC 3-2 over the weekend and look to avenge their defeat against Colorado this weekend. FCD moves up a few spots after their latest performance that earned Fabian Castillo MLS Player of the Week.

Here's the latest rankings from around the web:

Rank: 5 (Last week: 7)

Comment: If only Fabian Castillo could match up 1-v-1 with Nick Hagglund every week.

Rank: 4 (Last week: 6)

Comment: FCD bounced back from its debacle against Colorado with a 3-2 win against road-weary Toronto, despite a three-hour weather delay. Fabian Castillo's speed is no secret, but he still used it to great effect with two goals.

Sports Illustrated: Planet Futbol

Rank: 4 (Last week: 10)

Comment: FC Dallas jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and held on for the win despite a three-hour weather delay and a late Sebastian Giovinco brace.

Soccer America

Rank: 5 (Last week: 5)

Comment: FCD nearly punished those hardy fans who endured a 206-minute weather delay by blowing a 3-0 lead, but in the end two goals by Fabian Castillo and one from Blas Perez were just enough to beat TFC, 3-2. Castillo’s goal 29 seconds after the opening kickoff is the earliest in team history and by winning FCD stopped a two-game losing streak well after midnight.

Comment: FC Dallas bounced back with a rain-delay ridden victory over Toronto FC, putting a lid on some of the concerns that resonated following a 4-0 shellacking at the hands of the Colorado Rapids. FC Dallas gets a chance to quiet those doubts completely on Friday in a rematch.

Comment: Boy howdy, that first thirty minutes. What a way to get after getting a bad loss out of your system! And then the craziness began. It is hard to take the second half too seriously, but once again, the team is giving up goals. With a game at Colorado on Friday, we have another Must See TV match on the schedule.
