Thanks to a two goal effort, including FC Dallas' fastest goal in franchise history, Fabian Castillo was voted the MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) for week seven.
Castillo scored two goals in the first 10 minutes for FC Dallas in a 3-2 win over Toronto FC in a game that took nearly five hours to complete due to a three-hour weather delay. It was Castillo's second career two-goal performance.
The young Colombian scored 29 seconds into the match off a pass from Moises Hernandez. It was the 16th fastest goal in league history.
Castillo doubled his tally in the 10th minute when forward Blas Perez played a great through ball behind the Toronto defense. The speedy Castillo would find the ball on the left wing, make one move around a defender before bending a ball into the far corner of the goal.
FC Dallas returns to action this Friday as they travel to Denver to face the Colorado Rapids.
