MLS Fantasy Manager: Week Five

FC Dallas travels to Portland for their second road match of the year.

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

It's the fifth week of MLS Fantasy Manager 2015 and double-game weeks are just around the corner. With four teams on a bye week this week, it should be fun trying to put together a good squad. Double-game weeks start next week and you need to start preparing now. Let's get started. Lineups lock on Friday at 6:00 pm CT!

FC Dallas

Well, the defenders (excluding Kellyn Acosta of course) got the most points last week against Seattle. The offense never really got it going. The Hoops travel to Portland to take on the Timbers this weekend. Portland has surprisingly played well in the absence of Will Johnson and Diego Valeri. Fanendo Adi is on fire. FCD has their hands full. There is bad blood between this two teams. Especially after the game in Portland last year. Yikes. Should be a fun one.

Here's some guys to think about adding:

Matt Hedges $9.1 - Although Adi is playing well at the moment, I think our captain and stellar defense can take care of him. The guy we really need to worry about is Darlington Nagbe, who always seems to score against FCD.

Fabian Castillo $9.8 - Castillo is a good bet to start any week. He might start hot and fizzle out, or start slow and get hot. But, either way, he gets you points.

Blas Perez $9.3 - I'm not sure if he will start, but I'm confident he will play this weekend. He's up for MLS Player of the Month for March, and for good reason. He's on fire. He's scoring for club and country at the moment.

FOUR teams on bye weeks this week: Columbus Crew SC, Montreal Impact, New York City FC, and New York Red Bulls. Double-game weeks start next week. That means double the points. Start adding guys from these teams on DGWs now: Columbus Crew SC and Vancouver Whitecaps.

Here's some guys to think about adding:

Harrison Shipp (CHI) $7.8 - Shipp is a steal at that price. It's rising fast. Get him while he's cheap and reap the rewards in points.

Dom Dwyer (SKC) $10.3 - Dwyer and Sporting Kansas City have started off slow this year. However, they play a struggling Philadelphia Union side at home this weekend. Maybe Dwyer will get his first goal of the season.

Pedro Morales (VAN) $11.2 - Morales is leading all midfielders in points so far. Vancouver has looked strong this season. They play Los Angeles Galaxy this week at home, but I'm thinking more about next week than this weekend.

Jozy Altidore (TOR) $9.6 - Altidore has two goals in his first two games back in MLS. After getting a red card over the weekend playing with the national team, he will have something to prove. Also, Chicago's defense is not good. I'd consider playing Sebastian Giovinco as well.

Chad Marshall (SEA) $8.6 - Marshall should be ready to go this weekend after missing the game against FCD. Seattle will be at home against Houston Dynamo. Let's face it, the Houston attack is not that great. They've scored two goals in four games.

Had a decent week last week despite losing Graham Zusi to injury. I've started out slow this year, but I'm starting to catch up. Here's my squad for week five...
