Behind Enemy Lines: Scouting Toronto FC

Toronto have lost three straight games.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

FC Dallas hosts Toronto FC hoping to rid a two-game losing streak.

On the other hand, Toronto FC wants to break a three-game losing streak and tack on another loss to FCD.

Suspension Report

Toronto FC's midfielder Warren Creavalle will sit out Saturday's game after a red card in TFC's last game against Chicago Fire. Creavalle picked up an early yellow against the Fire in the fifth minute before a poor tackle in the 67th minute had him hit the locker room sooner than expected.

Injury Report

TFC has a handful of players recovering and dealing with injury. Some should be good to go while some may take some might not see the full 90 minutes.

OUT: D Clement Simonin (swelling in knee, DNP 4/4)

QUESTIONABLE: D Steven Caldwell (achilles injury, DNP 4/4)

PROABLE: D Damien Perquis (soleus strain, DNP 4/4, trained 4/14), Mark Bloom (quadriceps strain, DNP 4/4, trained 4/14), Eriq Zavaleta (ankle sprain, DNP 4/4); M Benoit Cheyrou (adductor strain)

Probable Lineup

TFC could sport a 4-1-2-3 formation for Saturday's contest to FCD.

GK: Joseph Bendik; LB: Marky Delgado; CB: Nick Hagglund, Justin Morrow; RB: Ashtone Morgan; M: Jonathan Osorio, Benoit Cheyrou, Michael Bradley; F: Jozy Altidore, Robbie Findley, Sebastian Giovinco

Key Matchup

Je-Vaughn Watson vs. Altidore - Watson is still in the works of regaining his control on that right side. He will be against one of the best strikers in the league in Altidore. Altidore's strength can be FCD's defense demise, especially if the backline plays similar to last week.

Keys to Three Points

Strong backline. FCD's defense looked embarrassing in its 4-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids last week. As Matt Hedges returns to that centerback spot, FCD needs to play a tighter, more dominating defense to calm TFC's strong offense. Giovinco and Findley can easily cause a disturbance alongside the USMNT players in attack.

Shoot on target. In last week's loss, FCD only took three shots that caused the Rapids to make save. Two of those shots on target came from the boot of Tesho Akindele. All three shots were from the right side of the goal inside the box. Dallas has to create more opportunities and be creative in its play upfront.

Limit TFC's possession. TFC has won the possession battle in its last two games even though the team has taken the loss in both of those matches. FCD is playing with Michel and Victor Ulloa and Michel controlling the central midfield. The two have to be comfortable and pose a threat as TFC's strong midfield can easily take control early of the game and keep it throughout.
