Rankings Recap: FC Dallas takes tumble

After two straight losses, FCD is finding themselves sliding down the ranks.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Week six of MLS power rankings is here. FC Dallas fell a little last week after suffering their first loss of the season. The Hoops are sliding even farther this week after losing at home 4-0 to Colorado.

Here's the latest rankings from around the web:

Rank: 7 (Last week: 3)

Comment: It's April, which means Dallas are sliding. How long will it last this year?

Rank: 6 (Last week: 5)

Comment: Looks like defender Matt Hedges is even more important to Dallas' fortunes than originally thought. In his absence, FCD was simply overpowered by Colorado, with some weak defending the primary culprit. Is the annual late-spring swoon starting early?

Sports Illustrated: Planet Futbol

Rank: 10 (Last week: 4)

Comment: Dallas’ inconsistency of seasons past has returned, with the team losing two in a row after opening the season with three consecutive wins and a draw.

Soccer America

Rank: 6 (Last week: 5)

Comment: Getting crushed and embarrassed, 4-0, by previously winless and goalless Colorado should take care of any complacency issues for a few months at least. Yet the loss followed a 3-1 defeat at Portland and that result should have sent a message. Hard to predict what happens next. FCD gets a chance to atone at home Saturday as the "TFC Across America" tour visits Texas.

Comment: After falling in their previous effort against the Portland Timbers, FC Dallas was eviscerated by a Colorado Rapids team that hadn’t won in ages. The start of the season was so promising, but these last two performances have surely tempered expectations a bit.
