Rankings Recap: FC Dallas still number one

After four weeks, FCD is still hanging on at the top.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

It's the fourth week of power rankings in MLS. FC Dallas was at the top of most boards last week. Let's see where they land this week.

Here's the latest rankings from around the web:

Rank: 1 (Last week: 1)

Comment: Ten points from four games to open the season. The scary part? They still look like they're only just figuring things out. This team's ceiling is ridiculously high.

Rank: 1 (Last week: 1)

Comment: Home draws are usually nothing to celebrate, but after playing a man down after the 17th minute against Seattle, FCD will take the point and move on. A bigger question surrounds the health of Mauro Diaz, who was missing from the 18-man roster against the Sounders.

Rank: 2 (Last week: 1)

Comment: It wasn’t a win, but holding out for a draw against Seattle to stay undefeated after Kellyn Acosta’s 18th-minute red card might be Dallas’ most impressive result of the season so far.

Soccer America

Rank: 1 (Last week: 1)

Comment: Severely tested by a straight red card to Kellyn Acosta in the 17th minute, FCD scraped out a 0-0 tie with Seattle. FCD limited Seattle to zero shots on goal, though keeper Chris Seitz and his defensive mates should be appreciative of some limp Seattle finishing. This was far from the glamour matchup that had been anticipated; instead, FCD drew praise for its grittiness. It has conceded one goal in four games.

Comment: After starting the season off with three straight victories, FC Dallas came back down to earth a bit with a draw with the Sounders. Lacking Blas Perez, Moises Hernandez and Mauro Diaz, the result surely isn’t a negative one, especially considering the early sending off of Kellyn Acosta.
