MLS Fantasy Manager: Week One

FC Dallas starts the season at home and the players should be in store for a lot of points!

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

It's the first week of MLS Fantasy Manager 2015 (hopefully). Hope you have an idea of what your roster will look like this weekend. I'm going give a list of some guys I think you should consider having on your team. Lineups lock Friday at 9:00 pm CT!

FC Dallas

FCD will be at home this weekend to face San Jose Earthquakes and again next weekend against Sporting Kansas City. I hope you know what home games mean for our guys. It usually means a win and a lot of fantasy points. FCD players should be able to rack up the points against San Jose this weekend.

Who to start/add

Walker Zimmerman $5.5 - It looks like Zach Loyd won't start the first week. Zimmerman is one of the most selected players in fantasy because of this. Everyone knows Dallas plays well at home. With Matt Hedges next to him, he will get more points than what his price suggests.

Dan Kennedy or Chris Seitz $5.0 - I'd snag one of these guys. Personally, I have Kennedy on my roster because I think he will be the day one starter. I have a backup set to sub in for him if he doesn't play. I'd suggest you do the same.

Mauro Diaz $9.0 - From what I've seen, Diaz looks to be one of more captained players in fantasy in week one. And why not? The guy took the league by storm last year before injury and was starting to get back to that form after his injury.

Who not to start/add

Michael Barrios $7.5 - I've yet to see the new guy play. It's too unpredictable to start him. Especially since a guy like Ryan Hollingshead might start day one.

Victor Ulloa $6.5 - Ulloa is cheap. But, he's cheap for a reason. He won't get you many points. Stick to other guys in the midfield.

Moises Hernandez $6.5 - Hernandez is a solid left back. But he cost $6.5. He played about 1100 minutes last season, and only 35 fantasy points to show for it. Sorry Moises.

Now I will get into the rest of the MLS. No double-game weeks in week one.

Who to start/add

Robbie Keane $11.0 - Keane is playing at home and against Chicago. The reigning MLS MVP will probably be the most captained player this week.

Brad Davis $9.5 - The Houston Dynamo were horrible on the defensive side of the ball last season. They still won;t be that great on the defensive side oft he ball this season. But, they do have Davis and a pretty good attack. Davis is the most consistent fantasy player on their team. He's in my squad. I think he's one of the more underrated players in fantasy this season.

Krisztian Nemeth $8.0 - The Sporting KC forward led the team in scoring during preseason. I'm taking a gamble on him in my squad. You might want to consider doing the same. If he keeps putting in goals and only cost $8.0, that's a steal.

Who not to start/add

Clarence Goodson $7.5 - San Jose wasn't very good last season and they won't be this season. They play Dallas on the road and I don't see the result leaning in their favor.

Ronald Zubar $7.5 - The New York Red Bulls travel to KC to play Dom Dwyer. Graham Zusi, and Benny Feilhaber. Need I say more? This could be a high-scoring affair. Zubar and the NY defense could be shredded.

Jozy Altidore $9.5 - Unless you're a gambling man, I'd keep Altidore out of your squad until we see if he will be the player we know he can be. Toronto travels to Vancouver to play a Whitecaps team who is pretty solid in the back.

Away goals

I will start posting my squad every week. Yes, my team name is "Away goals."
