Blas Perez up for MLS Player of the Month for March

A couple of goals will get you some recognition.

Just like with the last few season, FC Dallas has raced out of the gate to start the season. Last year Mauro Diaz started strong for the club as he earned the league's first Player of the Month award. Now FC Dallas has someone else nominated for the second straight March as Blas Perez is one of five players nominated for Player of the Month in MLS.

Perez had a stellar opening month to the season in the three games he played. He scored three goals in the first two matches, including two game-winners.

His competition is pretty stiff as you might expect. He will be going up against Orlando's big Designated Player in Kaka, who had two goals of his own; Sporting KC's Ike Opara had a strong opening month for the Sporks defense, earning a couple of shutouts and scoring a couple goals of his own; Vancouver's Octavio Rivero has been a big addition to the Cap's attack in 2014, scoring three goals (two of them as late game-winners); and finally New York's Bradley Wright-Phillips had two goals and two assists on the month.

Head over to the league's site to vote for Perez as much as you can FCD fans!
