Squad Selection: FC Dallas v Seattle Sounders

New, 7 comments

Now comes the depth challenge. Just how deep is this Dallas squad?

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

No doubt you've read and seen all the coverage here that FC Dallas will be without six five players who have been called up into their national team's respective international camps. Gone are three two starters (Blas Perez - Panama, Moises Hernandez - Guatamala, and Atiba Harris - Saint Kitts and Nevis actually Harris will be back for this one) and several players who have served well as substitutes (Jesse Gonzalez - Mexico Gonzalez was called but due to an injury to Dan Kennedy Gonzalez will be staying here, Kyle Bekker - Canada and Je-Vaughn Watson - Jamaica). The Big D Soccer staff have been speculating on what Oscar Pareja will do against the Sounders this weekend, and we now want to know what you'll do. Again, we're not asking for what you think Pareja will roll out there. Instead, we want to know what you'll do if you were the head coach. There's a lot of versatility on this squad and a lot of playable options and formation twists that you can play with.

So vote below and sound off in the comments about what you would do!

Out:

  • Coy Craft - injury
  • Stephen Keel - injury
  • Blas Perez - International call up
  • Kyle Bekker - International call up
  • Moises Hernandez - International call up
  • Je-Vaughn Watson - International call up
  • Dan Kennedy(?) - injury (unofficial)

I've been avoiding presenting my selection in the actual article in fear of influencing too much of what you guys will think. However, this one is just too tempting to pass over. So below is what I would roll out against the Sounders:

squad selection

Bench: Gonzalez, Zimmerman, Barrios, Texeira, Earle and Garcia.

Obafemi Martins is just too quick for a Hedges-Zimmerman match up, so Loyd will continue getting the nod at CB. Will run Acosta on the left with the option of switching with Michel if the middle needs a little more mobility. Disagree? Argue away in the comments below!
