Two second half goals give FCD the win.

FC Dallas improved to 3-0-0 on the season with a 2-0 win over shorthanded Philadelphia Union.

Dallas got second half goals from Tesho Akindele and Ryan Hollingshead in the win.

FC Dallas' first early chance came in the 14th minute on a ball that went wide to Fabian Castillo. The young Colombian beat his mark as he entered the penalty box but  Akindele couldn't get on the end of the cross from Castillo.

Things would stay level as Dallas continued to push for more chances on goal. In the 39th minute, Mauro Diaz had two decent looks on goal, one with a good layoff from Akindele that Diaz would hit wide. Diaz got another look moments later that he would hit over the bar.

Philadelphia would be reduced to ten men just before the end of the first half as Zack Pfeffer would pick up a straight red on a foul on Diaz. Pfeffer would catch Diaz with an intentional elbow to Diaz's face on the play.

Dallas would make a breakthrough in the second half, shortly after halftime with a goal from Akindele. Dallas would utilize the extra space on the field as they took the ball over in the midfield on a mistake by Fabinho. Akindele would get the ball on a mis-kick by the Union defender and slot away the game's first goal.

The lead would double in the 59th minute on a goal from Hollingshead. Castillo would set up the goal on the left flank as he would fake out a defener before dishing the ball off to Hollingshead who would perfectly place the ball in the back of the net.

Dallas returns to action next week as they host defending Supporters Shield winners Seattle Saunders FC next Saturday at Toyota Stadium.
