Rankings Recap: FC Dallas is at the top

FC Dallas is at the top of most boards after week two.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

It's the second week of power rankings and FC Dallas is the only team 2-0-0 after a 3-1 win over Sporting Kansas City Saturday night. Most analysts have them at the top of their rankings this week because of that.

Here's the latest rankings from around the web:

Rank: 1 (Last week: 4)

Comment: If you stay perfect, even though you haven't played perfect, and you're the only ones to remain perfect … then you're No. 1. Dallas have some stuff to figure out, but they keep collecting three points on the journey, so there you have it.

Rank: 1 (Last week: 7)

Comment: Tough defense and killer play in transition continues to be a winning formula for Dallas, in this case against Kansas City. Blas Perez celebrated his birthday in style, scoring two goals. If Mauro Diaz can regain his magic from a year ago, look out.

Comment: A team that builds its reputation on youth, Dallas, the only team to collect six points from two games, has also received standout performances from veteran Blas Pérez in its first two matches of 2015.

Soccer America

Rank: 2 (Last week: 3)

Comment: Since he came to MLS in 2012, Blas Perez has always been a handful but he hasn’t always been reliable. So far in the 2015 season, he looks like an All-Star. His second and third goals of the season propelled FCD past Sporting KC, 3-1, and Fabian Castillo punctuated a lively performance by scoring the clincher. By snuffing a PK, Chris Seitz strengthened his case for keeping Dan Kennedy on the bench.

Comment: Blas Perez once again proved to be the difference for FC Dallas, as the striker now sits tied with Clint Dempsey for the league lead in goals. Riding an in-form Perez, FC Dallas look to continue their perfect start on the road against the Union.
