So far the preseason has been good for FC Dallas midfielder Ryan Hollingshead. The former UCLA star came into camp as one of the most fit players for Oscar Pareja to work with in 2015. Pareja rewarded Hollingshead with plenty of minutes in preseason, which helped guide him to three goals in three games against MLS competition.
But now the regular season is upon us. In 2014, Hollingshead wasn't a bit staple on the roster as he was further down the depth charts in the midfield behind guys like Je-Vaughn Watson, Andres Escobar and in some ways to Tesho Akindele. He only played in 11 games last year, with just four starts. Unlike his preseason in 2015, Hollingshead didn't register a single goal or assist.
So what should FC Dallas fans expect out of him in 2015? All indications point to him getting a starting role to begin the new season but will it stick? Time for you all to make your preseason predictions on Hollingshead with how many starts, games played, goals and assists he will bring in. I'm fairly optimistic he'll contribute well this season while he shares minutes with Michael Barrios.
25 games played, 13 starts, 6 goals, 1 assist
