**Quick note that the voting was conducted before Michael Barrios was acquired and before the pre-season games kicked off, so this does not account for any new acquisitions or the hot streak of Ryan Hollingshead.**

Thanks to you, our faithful readers, for voting in our Position Battles series. As promised, I tallied up all the votes and pieced together your predicted starting XI for FC Dallas heading in 2015. So here it is, your Big D Soccer Fans' Starting XI:

starting xi

Most surprising was the absence of Zach Loyd which I suspect his range of versatility cost him a place here as he lost out to Acosta for the right back spot by two votes, and to Zimmerman for centerback by one vote. Mauro Diaz and Fabian Castillo were unsurprisingly basically locks at this point, with both getting over 90% of the votes (I know some of you voted against them just for the sake of it).

You guys were also pretty undecided as a whole group regarding the right back position, Hedges' partner in crime and the center midfield pairing as each of those positions won without gaining the majority vote. Thankfully, Oscar Pareja has stated that he actually does know who most of the team's starters will be, with the only competition still up for grabs being the goalkeepers (which he surprisingly stated that even Jesse Gonzalez was in the running).

For those of you who are wondering, below are the results by position:

GK: Dan Kennedy (78%)

RB: Kellyn Acosta (45%)

LB: Moises Hernandez (78%)

CB: Matt Hedges - Walker Zimmerman (46%)

CDM: Victor Ulloa - Michel (48%)

RW: Tesho Akindele (71%)

LW: Fabian Castillo (93%)

AM: Mauro Diaz (96%)

S: Blas Perez (56%)

So what do you guys think? Think this will be the starting XI in two weeks? Now that we've seen a few pre-season games do you think you would change your vote? Sound off the comments below.
