FC Dallas looks to wrap up the ATX Pro Challenge with a win over D.C. United today. This will be the first of two meetings this week between the two clubs as FC Dallas will host the Black and Red on Friday night in Frisco.
Both sides managed to ease their way into the title game with wins on Friday night. Now they get to fight for this:
Kickoff time: 3:15pm
Venue: Mike A. Myers Stadium (Austin, TX)
Projected lineups: On Friday, Oscar Pareja used a fairly strong lineup with guys like Blas Perez, Matt Hedges, Mauro Diaz, Fabian Castillo, Victor Ulloa and Chris Seitz all getting big minutes. I would look for a fairly similar roster today with some exceptions as Pareja looks to find ways to get younger guys like rookie Otis Earle, trialists Juan Toja and Aurelio Saco-Vertiz, potential Homegrown players Aaron Meyer and Damion Rosales more time on the field.
I do think this will be a match that we'll continue to see the chemistry between Diaz, Castillo and Perez improve. It was solid on Friday night but it still has work to do.
Prediction: If Friday night was an indication of things to come, this should be another win. I think a lot will depend on the recovery time for both teams in this game and how the managers approach things. I feel pretty good that FCD can win this one though, so lets say 2-1.
What are you drinking?: I'm totally stealing this thought from our fellow DCU blog, Black and Red United this season. I have some Revolver Blood and Honey to enjoy today during this afternoon game. What about you all?
