Thanks for voting in the first two rounds, just a reminder that voting is open for 2 days Both of these goals seem like decades ago but I love how the random draw put together two of the better counters that FC Dallas put together this year in the same round.
First up we have, what I like to call Ryan Hollingshead's coming out party. First he made the right read that the Sporting Kansas City defensive shape had been compromised. Then he had the wheels to get to the end of that perfectly weighted through ball. Finally, while running at full speed, he had the awareness to perfectly weight a pass right into Fabian Castillo's path for an easy goal. It just looks like Hollingshead just ran north really fast, but there were quite a few things that went into play too.
Up against that goal is this wonder goal from Michael Barrios who finally was able to show off his ridiculous pace for a goal against the Columbus Crew. This was the match that Dallas looked woefully depleted and were without Mauro Diaz, Fabian Castillo, Blas Perez and Tesho Akindele. While this goal was definitely about Barrios' speed, there are the little things to admire too such as his strength to hold off the defender and also the balance to stay on his feet and maintain that break neck speed that he has.
Two truly fantastic counter attacking goals. Which one gets your vote?
