The week is flying by here as MLS Cup is this weekend.

I had a thought this morning when I woke up about those 2012 and 2013 teams. So many different faces from then but such a better group of players both on and off the field too.
The senior team may be done for 2015, but the academy sides are still going here.
Normally I would be all for a local guy getting USMNT team hype but I really would rather see Jesse Gonzalez stick it out with Mexico. I think the talent pool at keeper is too thick in the US system for him to get anywhere.

Both teams have an interesting formula for how they built their squads. Portland is inching closer into what FCD likes to do with South Americans and are getting good results with who they have. Columbus continues to impress me though with their young talent.
Things banned this weekend at MLS Cup: timber or wood of any kind. Well played Crew.
I always enjoy Steve Davis' work for FCD's website and this week he brings it with some good points all around about MLS Cup, the length of the season in MLS and more.
I mean, there really was no debate about who MLS MVP would be once the season ended. I know Kei Kamara had a case but there was no way Sebastian Giovinco wasn't going to land that award.
On the surface, it sure doesn't look like they do.
From the sounds of things, MLS is going to give Beckham and his group some hard deadlines this week. My gut tells me that they'll start letting cities pass Miami on the pecking order for expansion slots.
Because, America. Right?
One growing comment about the playoffs is the advantage for the higher seed after FCD and NY were outed this past weekend. I agree that there has to be something in place to give the higher seed the advantage.
