Christmas came and went with some rumors for FC Dallas. While most teams were quiet on the rumor mill over the holidays, FC Dallas had plenty of activity including this one:
Buenos días. FC Dallas sería el equipo que negocia con Yohandry Orozco para su fichaje— Alfredo Coronis A. (@AlfredoCoronis) December 23, 2015
Basically this states that FCD is one of the teams in talks with 24-year old attacking midfielder Yohandry Orozco from Venezuela.
Orozco has bounced around a little bit so far in his young career, playing for a couple teams in Venezuela and also briefly for German side Wolfsburg. He has also been called up by the Venezuelan national team 25 times, including a spell with the national team during the 2011 Copa America tournament that saw Venezuela finish fourth.
We know FCD has the cap space and the money to add someone like Orozco. The big question is where would he fit right now on this team? When I first saw his name and saw a little more about him, I immediately thought he was a Fabian Castillo replacement or someone that would help push Michael Barrios a bit more. He could also be a good depth piece behind Mauro Diaz too.
One interesting thing to note here, during some of the time he spend with his national team he did work with current FC Dallas trainer Fabian Bazan. So there could be some good connections there as to why FCD is in the running for Orozco.
What do you make of this rumor? Would you be interested in Orozco?
