Decision Day: What to watch for as FC Dallas hosts San Jose

Let's get crazy, MLS.

Jeff Swinger-USA TODAY Sports

Decision Day is here and at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. CT, the MLS is going to get wild.

Keep it Loco-al

It's nice that FC Dallas is playing their final game of the year at home, but its even more nice that the game means a ton — hopefully. FC Dallas can win 3-0 in a dominant performance, but it means nothing if New York scraps to a 1-0 win in the windy city this afternoon.

It'd be nice to think that Chicago can give the Red Bulls their all and scrap to a tie, but we live the real world — chances of that happening are slim. Fortunately, FC Dallas takes on San Jose at the same time and they'll have to focus on their own game, not knowing whats happening in Chicago — that should help the team's mindset in this one.

Ignorance is bliss, right?

Striker Tryout

This final game, it'll be interesting to see who starts up top for FC Dallas as the team heads into the playoff with several attacking options. Right now, its Texeira's job to lose, but something tells me Blas Perez will do his best to make Oscar Pareja's decision that much more difficult.

Texeira has been on fire down the stretch and maybe he's finally turning into the man we all thought he would be — they grow up so fast *tear*.

How Sweet It is

Regardless of how either games turn out today, what a ride its been. We've seen this team go through highs and plenty of lows (looking at you, May and June). It's nice to see the team begin to level out at the end of the year and not lose more two consecutive games since August 22nd, including a rare two-game unbeaten streak on the road.

If this team can keep form going into the playoffs, the MLS Cup is well within reach.

But first, let's get a shield, eh? (sorry for the Canadian talk)
