MLS Fantasy Manager: Round 31

With 4 rounds left, whatcha got?

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

If you followed my lead and captained Ciman last week instead of Drogba, feel free to pillory me in the comments. I tried to separate myself last week, and it didn't work. C'est la vie.

FC Dallas:

FC Dallas were beaten at LA 3-2 last Sunday, and honestly, that's not a horrible result in Carson (since July anyway). 3 goals scored by LA's designated players were countered by the oddities of a goal from right back Atiba Harris and a headed goal from the shortest player for Dallas, Michael Barrios, and despite the seemingly fluky nature of Dallas tallies, Dallas had a legitimate chance to escape with a draw.

FC Dallas returns home to take on Houston for another national broadcast (show up fans!) on Sunday. FC Dallas has outscored Houston 6-1 this year, and this game has the feel of the bugler playing Taps on the Dynamo's season. Mauro's back. Kellyn Acosta is no longer on the injury report. It's a tasty home game, and FCD needs 3 points. I think Dallas rolls.

Adds: Mauro Diaz M ($10.0)- Maestro, penalty taker, set piece enthusiast. He's back folks. The only reason I'm not captaining him is that Giovinco get Philly at home after a deflating loss in an extra time, penalty kick decided US Open cup loss, and I still might give him the armband.

Drops:- Jesse Gonzalez G ($4.2)- The kid's played great, but I have a feeling Dan Kennedy ($4.9) is back between the pipes this week, and you probably have better options. This is an exact repeat of last week. Jesse did have 5 saves last week, but I think DK is back, and you have better options. Despite these pronouncements, the future is bright for JG.

There are no double game weeks this round, and there's unlimited transfers for the following 2 rounds. Portland gets Spork at home, and Toronto gets Philly at home. I'm betting big on Fernando Adi ($9.6) and Sebastien Giovinco ($13.5) this week. Here's a couple of off the beaten path guys for your consideration.

Picks to Click:

Juan Manuel Martinez F (8.7)- He's up to speed now, and he'll be leaned on with Javier Morales most likely absent in the Rocky Mountain Cup. We remember his craftiness when we beat Real Salt Lake back in August, and since then, he's added scoring and even defense to his repertoire. This is the kind of DP Dallas needs, and I think he'll be useful this weekend. He's only owned by 0.4% of teams.

Tommy Thompson M ($6.4) - Here's another guy with low ownership (0.7%) and a unique opportunity. Matias Perez Garcia scored the lone goal to defeat RSL this past weekend...and ripped off his shirt to celebrate. This earned him his 2nd yellow and an expulsion (c'mon you have to be as bad as Fabi Castillo to strip and not get a yellow). With Fatai Alashe and Marc Pelosi playing with the U23s, Thompson has a unique opportunity to earn a start here, and he's dirt cheap. It's wing and a prayer time, so if you need a low cap number for this week, it's worth a shot.

Full Disclosure:

I'll be posting my lineup at about 5:30 pm CDT because, honestly, I can. Why not wait until the last minute if you've got the devices and networks?

Update: Yeah, I'm out there now. Screw it.
