The start of the preseason on Friday also ushered in a new coach for FC Dallas. The club announced on Friday afternoon that Fabian Bazan was been hired as the club's new strength and conditioning coach.
If the name sounds familiar it is because Fabian is the brother of current FC Dallas assistant coach Josema Bazan, who was promoted to assistant coach last February.
"Fabian has been in the professional game for a number of years," said FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja in the club's issued press release. "The international experience he brings to FC Dallas will help us get to the next level. We're happy to have him and add his professionalism and experience to the group dynamic."
Bazan comes with some pretty solid credentials as well. He earned his degree from Instituto Nacional de Educación Física in Granadero Baigorria, Santa Fe, Argentina in 1994. He served as a strength and conditioning coach with the Venezuelan National Team from 2008 to 2013. Bazan worked as the strength and conditioning coach for Club Tijuana in Liga MX last season.
Hopefully this new coach will help cure some of the hamstring injuries that has plagued the team over the last couple of years. Time will tell on that front though.
