MLS Fantasy Manager: Week 29

Home games usually mean good fantasy points for FC Dallas, but maybe not this week.

FC Dallas

After a tough loss on the road to the Los Angeles Galaxy, FC Dallas are back home. No weekend game this week, just a midweek game against Seattle Sounders. FCD has lost both games (home and away) they have played against Seattle this year. It doesn't look good for the Hoops this week as they face the team at the top of the table.

Who to start/add

Blas Perez $8.4 - Perez has been on fire recently. His recent form has come at a great time. Not only is he peaking at just the right time, but he is doing all of this in the absence of Mauro Diaz and while Fabian Castillo has cooled down. Go with the hot foot in this one.

Tesho Akindele $5.3 - Akindele hasn't scored since his hat-trick performance in San Jose a little over a month ago. He's due. He's a good cheap option if you need to use money elsewhere.

Michel $7.5 - I don't know what it is, but for whatever reason Michel likes to play against Seattle. He has scored four goals in four games against Seattle. Here's to hoping that streak continues Wednesday night.

Who not to start/add

Mauro Diaz $7.8 - Diaz came on again as another late substitution in LA. But, after only 27 minutes, Diaz went down with an injury. ANOTHER ONE. Just as he was inching his way back and was almost at full fitness, he gets injured again. He isn't playing in this one. Don't take the risk of keeping him. I'd sell him. Who knows how long he will be out this time. Let's hope he can return for the playoffs.

Andres Escobar $6.0 - In Fabian Castillo's absence last week, Escobar got the start. His play is very similar to Castillo. He played decent. He even registered an assist. With Castillo out again, FCD needs Escobar to have a big game against Seattle. Seattle knows this. I have a feeling DeAndre Yedlin will get the better of him.

Matt Hedges $8.7 - Don't use your money on Hedges this week. Oscar Pareja rested him last week in LA so he would be ready for this game. But, the attacking duo of Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey will cause troubles all night long for FCD's defense.

Only one midweek game this week. Seattle is the only team on a double-game week.

Who to start/add

Clint Dempsey $10.5 - Seattle is on a double-game week. I would pick up Dempsey or Martins (or both) this week. Even if they don't score against FCD, they are bound to score when they head home to play against Chivas USA this weekend.

Dom Dwyer $8.4 - Dwyer has scored in each of this last two games. His form suggests he will get another at home against New England.

Bradley Wright-Phillips $8.9 - I would never bet against BWP getting a goal this season. Even if it is on the road against LA.

Who not to start/add

Chivas USA - I was right about not starting anyone from Colorado last week. This week I'm telling you not to start anyone from the whole Chivas USA team.

Jamison Olave $9.1 - New York Red Bulls travel to LA this weekend to take on the Galaxy's prudent offense. I expect this one to be high-scoring or a rout of New York. Olave is too expensive to start and get little to no points.

Philadelphia Union defense - I wouldn't start anyone from the Philly defense this week. They travel to DC to play D.C. United. DCU have both Eddie Johnson and Fabian Espindola back.
